I was bored yesterday so I made a little site called ishosted.at (I love ccTLDs). Its a silly stupid little site that basically tells you who is hosting a site based on the nameservers. Its probably not that useful and there are still some bugs I need to fix and enhancements I want to make but I was pleasantly surprised that I actually got it to work. I really like having projects even small ones so hopefully I can find something else to do like this next week.

  1. Great! It can really be useful when people don’t know where their own site is hosted :)

I gave it a try with one of my own sites, werewp.com, and it returned a hosting provider that doesn’t match my nameservers, nor my hosting provider name. It might help you with your debugging, so I thought I’d mention it here!

    1. It’s weird, when I use the dig command it says your nameservers are ns101.mschosting.com & ns102.mschosting.com but when I go to http://who.is and check them it says they are NS101.WPWEBHOST.COM & NS102.WPWEBHOST.COM. I’ve never seen this before, will have to look into it further.
